Just got this and used it for two days shooting during a train show. Its a must for DSLR video. After two days and about two hundred video clips, it was still showing no signs of battery wear out. The adjustable foot slips on to the hot shoe easily and locks down securely. I was seen as a professional and people gave me right of way to work. The light does get notice (no one else has anything like it). Its clearly not built like a professional rig, nor is it priced like one. If you are starting out, this is the one to go with. This provides the needed fill for closeups and wide scenes. If you are careful with your equipment, this ought to last quite a while. As with other Cowboy Studio products, I was not disappointed. If you want to get an entry level product at a reasonable price, it seems CowboyStudio has done the research for you and may have a product to fit your need. I tried the radio transmitter/receivers for flash and a soft box and they were perfect for my occasional needs.
