The E-IMAGE EI-717 series, are diecast and machined by exacting specifications for greater stability. Each head is equipped with a fluid damping system. (infinitely or 3 plus 0 step), which provides for ultra -75/+9° tilt range and +360 pan range. Payload capacity is up to 6kgs ( 13.2 lbs), making it the versatile solution for all DV cameras.

This is a great fluid head for the money. Heavy duty enough to place your larger camera on. Probably not as smooth as more expensive models, but works well for non-professional use.

4 of 5 So far, good, but panning mechanism is too tight October 16, 2016

So far everything looks like it works great, with the exception of the panning mechanism. The mechanism, or perhaps the designed drag on the mechanism is so tight that if I were to pan moving the wand from left to right, that the tripod head actually unscrews from the tripod instead of the gear panning like it would if panned from right to left. The panning mechanism is simply to tight, or they've designed it with too much drag. Other than that, this seems to be a great budget video tripod head!

I did my research before deciding on the Fancier EI-717A, even after reading countless reviews that this fluid drag head was a "hidden treasure" I had my doubts. Usually when something seems to good to be true (a highly regarded fluid head for under $100.00) it usually is and I had already prepared myself for the mental frustration of making a return once it arrived and didn't meet my expectations, I'm glad to say that wasn't necessary! THIS THING IS AWESOME. I will say you have to enjoy nice slow pans and tilts to get the most out of this fluid head, if you are looking for quick movement this one might be a little too stiff for you. I'm a news photojournalist who shoots everyday, the Fancier EI-717A  makes my job easier.

For the price and its quality, everyone that has a tripod should have a El717A Pro Video Photo Fluid Drag Tripod Head and buy it from Cowboy Studio because they provide excellent mail order service.
