The CowboyStudio Complete Lighting Kit would be a great addition to your studio. One of the main questions our customers ask us is, "What is the difference between continuous and strobe lighting?" Continuous lighting uses a constant light source to light the object, meaning that your lights will stay on during the entirety of your photo shoot. Continuous lighting is recommended for beginners. Strobe lighting uses a flash of light at the moment your camera shutter opens to illuminate your subject. Many professionals use this type of lighting because it offers more control of the light.

Flashes are used in photography to produces an instantaneous flash of artificial light at a color temperature of about 5500K to help illuminate a scene.

5 of 5 Love this! perfect starter kit February 27, 2014
Reviewer: Khimberly Milby from Whiteman AFB, MO United States
wasn't a fan of the fact that these don't come with instructions and I had to set it up based on the pictures. I don't like the boom kit, it was difficult to get to stay as the light outweighs the sandbag, but other than that it is a good starter kit. I didn't like the color of the lights and this is my first kit so I am still learning.

4 of 5 Solid Starter Kit December 9, 2012
Reviewer: Bryce Corrion from Saginaw, MI United States
Everything works properly. I was nervous about it, but now I am very happy with my purchase. There are some very minor things that could be better, but I also think you get what you pay for if not more. Good luck with your photos!

I am very pleased with not only the products I ordered, but also the customer service I received.  They truly have my interest at heart.  I placed such a large order, that they emailed me to ensure my delivery address was correct and that I did indeed authorize the order.  The lady was very nice & shipped my items out quickly! I was very excited to get my packages!  Thanks so much Cowboy Studio!!!

5 of 5 Great setup! October 15, 2012
Reviewer: Zack Frazier from Chicago, IL United States
I was worried about what I would get. I was pleased that all components in the kit are high-quality construction and the carrying bags make storage and transportation easy. Nothing in the kit feels flimsy.

My only complaint is that no instructions are included so you have to go to YouTube. Some of the components like the softboxes are tricky. But ultimately it's easy enough to figure out with a little experimentation.

I did order an extra wireless flash receiver. You don't need it necessarily since all the strobes will fire without but I found that the lights have to be set in a certain way for that to work. I have one receiver plugged into a strobe with a sync cord going from the receiver into another strobe. Same setup for the other two strobes gives me more flexibility to locate the lights.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the equipment. Perfect for someone like me who is interested in learning about studio lighting but isn't ready to spend thousands on high-end equipment.
