Twin to our counter weight boom, the 501 boom instead utilizes the more traditional sandbag technology for extra control. Great for using your small and large lights in high keys, this boom is a staple of our lineup.

Our boom stand are made of heavy duty steel with a beautiful black finish. It is ideal for studio or on location shooting and is great for backlit backgrounds or hair light. This stand comes with a non slip twist lock for quick and easy setup. It is strong enough for most lights with a softbox or large umbrella. The extendable arm extends to 7 feet with a max weight of 16 lbs.

I was very happy with the quality of this stand/boom.  My only 'criticism' is that the weight bag looks like it will be hard to fill....but only need to do it once, so hey!

Shipping and handling is expensive though, so be ready!

First of all, I have to mention how amazingly fast this product was shipped to me! I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this Boom Kit, but boy, was I surprised. The boom is really well made of very thick and durable aluminum. The extension arm itself can extend up to 7 Ft granted you use the sand provided which is also of very good quality. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product and will probably order more from Cowboy Studio.

It arrived on time. There was no padding at all in the box. Although there was no damage to the stand the carton was severely damaged. Because there was no padding the item was just flopping around in the box. I am sure the first time they piled something on top of it the carton just collapsed.
