Solid Octa for the price |

This a deal for the price. The octa is large, but folds small. The diffusion layers are thin, so you will get a hotspot, but I prefer more light to get out. The rods aren't a big deal, as they install easier than the old rod style softboxes. The bracket that comes with it is metal and chunky, but you can use any S type bracket, and it's a tight fit, which means you can also use a speed ring insert to make this Bowens compatible for a larger strobe.
Compared to the foldable softboxes, you get a rounder catchlight, with only slightly more build time due to the rods. Weight and portability are effective the same as the folded 32" softbox.
I'm considering buying a second one, it's easily worth the price.
